“We’re a well travelled retired couple living in Bermuda. We enjoyed our four night visit in Le Moulin in June, our second visit to Semur. Le Moulin compares favourably with the 5 star vacation homes we use, and was equipped with everything we needed. The immediate riverside is relaxing, the surroundings are beautiful, a large pool we enjoyed in the garden and orchard area, and from our lounge and patio the private riverbank grounds rise and meander to provide unique views of Semur above. The cool overnight temperatures with windows open and shutters closed provided us with great sleeping conditions.

There was a buzz in the centre of the town with several busy cafe/bars and restaurants offering good service and menus. The tourist office was a good source of information. We had a day in the Cote de Nuits area, with Beaune, Montrachet, Aloxe Corton and the iconic La Romanee within easy reach, had a producer tasting lunch, and bought from La Cave Privee in Fixin - exploring Dijon and the Chablis area will have to wait for our next visit.

We chose to drive in off Eurostar from Paris Gare du Nord, which worked well, particularly on our Saturday departure day when Paris traffic was lighter.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay in very beautiful setting.”
